GWR Structure

Our client wanted a standout piece like no other; we worked closely with the client running through the possibilities, this included manufacturing the whole structure in GRP with pre-finished panels that would get mounted on site. However, the largest triangular panel being 7m x 11m was going to be a logistical nightmare. As they were tight on time decided to stick with the steel structure that had been designed and engineered.

Our task was to make this piece stand out from the crowd with a high gloss flag blue finish, the fairing of these large flat panels was the hardest challenge, and attention to detail was vital. We achieved the perfect finish by filling and sanding with a 6m aluminum box section which is backbreaking work and is used less and less in our trade as clients settle for less than perfect finish.
