resin flooring for a restaurant kitchen

Fredericks is a well-established family run restaurant in the heart of Islington, whilst the public areas of the building had been treated to a fantastic refurbishment the kitchen was a little behind and due for an upgrade.

Renowned catering suppliers and commercial kitchen designers TAG UK were selected by the owner to design and oversee the fitting of a state of the art, eco-friendly and stylish kitchen to ensure the restaurant looked and performed as good behind the scenes as it does at the front of house.

At some point in the past the owner of the restaurant had applied a resin floor coating over the top of the prior tiled substrate which, by the time of the renovation, had started to fail in places and was generally looking tired, it was the owners preference that the new floor be resin based as he had the first-hand experience of the longevity and ease of maintenance of such floor coatings. Unfortunately, the refit was scheduled to take place over a very short space of time with only one 5 day slot in the middle of the project, part of which the air-conditioning and extraction fitters were also scheduled to be working!

Fortunately due to our ship refit background we are well versed in tight deadlines and having to work alongside/ around other trades and given a few days and many discussions with different floor coating manufacturers we were able to supply and fit a system which not only satisfied the design criteria but more importantly is compliant and will last well into the future.
